In the last couple of days...

We've had some fun times and some terrible 2 times! Last night we got a visit from Owen. They had a wonderful time together! They played inside then out on the deck, then inside, then out on the deck...etc. In the mean time, I was concentrating on the game. Big series going on here! (As of right now, top of the 7th we lead 5 to 4! If we win we will only be a half game back!! And, we just saw dadda on TV!) Today has been Jekyll and Hyde day for Derrick! He woke up as happy as can be in bed with mom and dadda. Was pretty happy until dadda was done working out and and left the office with just mom and him. So mom cut her workout short and had an unpleasant lunch (chicken? NOOOO! hotdog? NOOOO cheese? NOOOO chicken? Chickenen! Not!) Derrick then took a nap and when he woke up I said "Do you want to go to the gym?" He said "car?" Then he was happy. Happy at the gym, then leaving the gym made him upset because I didn't have a truck in my gym bag! "Truck, truck, truck wa wa wa, all the way home! Then we went to dinner with Claire and Brianna and that was pretty much fun! Then we got home and Derrick decided to be ornery again. But right at this moment, he's calm. whew whew whew. That should be enough for now!

Daddy's Home!!

Daddy got home tonight from his so/so road trip. Derrick was so excited!! Daddy brought him tons of toy airplanes. He and Owen played with them for a very long time. Then, Daddy changed him into his Pajamas and they snuggled on the couch watching Sprout. Absolutely adorable!

Derrick has had some great fun in the last few of days with Angelo, Claire and Owen! They are so cute together. Angelo just turned 6 years old. It's great that a 2 year old and a 6 year old can get along so well. They love each other so much. Angelo has loved Derrick since he was born. The same goes for Claire. She is 9 days younger than Derrick. We all met in the hospital when Derrick and Claire were born and are the best of friends ever since. Owen is our neighbor and we've been spending time with him this summer. They love the same things! We are so lucky to have Claire, Angelo and Owen. I'm also so very thankful for their parents, Brianna and Craig (Claire's parents) and Marie and Ryan (Angelo's parents) and Lisa and Cyrus (Owen's parents).

I just think that Derrick looks so cute today that I wanted to share. We had his pictures taken a couple of days ago, and now kind of wish I would have dressed him in this outfit! He's such a little model!

My first blog

I've never blogged before, but thought it would be a good way for my family to view recent activities in our lives since we are so far away from everybody!

The above is a picture of the loves of my life. Rick is the best husband ever and Derrick is the most awesome kid in the world! I love them so much!

This season has been a long one! The schedule is bad. We hardly have any time with Rick. He's such a hard worker. I've been spending time taking care of Derrick and hanging out with friends once in a while. We also go for runs and go outside in our cul de sac every night and hope to run into the neighbors. I'm lucky to have support from friends and neighbors here. I love Minnesota for that. We are all so friendly. (Yes, I said we!! Hahaha!)

I'm heading back to SLC in about a month. I can't wait to see my family! Wish Ashley and Jody could be there too. It's going to be great. I just know it.
