November 27

Yay! Thanksgiving is here and I'm so excited for our Thanksgiving feast! We had one downer, Rick grills the turkey and it was really windy out today, so the turkey took a lot longer to cook than anticipated. But once it was cooked it was great! Jan came over and visited for a little while this evening and Derrick was very excited to see her! He showed off as usual! I wish I would have taken pictures of our feast today, but I was too excited to eat. Sorry!

Today after we dropped Derrick off for preschool Rick and I both admitted that we didn't feel like going to workout. So we decided to go "window" shopping, although we actually did enter the stores. It was so weird. We felt like we were playing hookie or something. While in the stores we felt so weird not saying, "no, don't touch that!" or "come hold my hand." Even though we weren't doing anything wrong at all it sure felt like it!

We started getting ready for Thanksgiving today. We set up one of our Christmas trees today. We haven't decorated it yet, but Derrick loves our tree! There's going to be a lot of decorating going on around here! Rick made a pecan pie and a strawberry jello salad. I made the broccoli cauliflower salad. Then we decided to go for a ride and look for lights. All three of us love to do that. I have a feeling we are going to be going for lots of drives at night for the next month! Then we came home and Rick started brining the turkey! We are so excited!

November 25

Today Derrick rediscovered his trucks that we have put in the entry closet a few weeks ago. He was so cute going everywhere on his train and crashing all the cars. Crash, crash! After his nap we went out and about running some errands. We stopped and looked at Christmas trees and Derrick loved that. We also went to the Men's Wharehouse to get Rick some pants, and for some weird reason Derrick LOVES that store. He runs wild looking in all the mirrors. The worker knew she recognized us from somewhere, and then she remembered the last time we were there with Derrick and realized where she recognized us from. Funny. We are getting excited to go see Bolt. Derrick has sure been into watching his movies lately! And, he still loves playing in the couch cushions! Silly silly boy!

November 24

Today Rick had to go to the ballpark for a little while. We all got up early for our family. We all got a good start to the morning, which is really nice. Here's something new for the day...Derrick had his first Happy Meal today! And, he actually ate some of it. After lunch we went to the Madagascar website and printed out a bunch of coloring pages for Derrick. He loved watching the papers come out of the printer! We've been planning our Thanksgiving dinner for a while now and have only gone to the grocery store about 4 times. Rick changed his mind about one of the dishes that we decided to not do this year, so we still have to go to the store.

Today was a typical Sunday. The only thing we did is go to brunch. Derrick actually did fantastic. We had some tricks we used so that he wouldn't ask for suckers. It worked and we are sure glad it did. We came home and all took a nap. I woke up so groggy that I had to get another workout in and that helped a ton.

Derrick really likes to wear Rick's headphones now when he watches his movies. It's so cute!

November 22

Happy Anniversary to me and Rick! 6 years ago today we got married! What a day. We had the best wedding thanks to my parents and Andrea! It was just my style. Today we don't have plans because we could not find a babysitter, sad. Rick finished our Thanksgiving shopping today and he brought home some caviar since we can't go out. Derrick sang lots of songs today and was filled with energy, which is probably because he actually slept through the night in his own bed last night for the first time in months! Yay Derrick! (Which means I couldn't sleep all night wondering if he was OK, checking on him 5 times! Funny how I woke up with no pain in my back and neck though, hmmmm?)

Today we had plans after Derrick's preschool...all I have to say is they did not work out as planned. 2 year olds and those stupid suckers all over the place. I'm really not a fan of suckers! Derrick fell asleep on the way home and took a nap when we got home. Turns out he was probably just exhausted. Poor kid!

Later we went to Sam's Club, and I'll tell you what, that was an experience! There were a ton of people there. They were handing out samples all over the place and people were even waiting in line to get samples! We're getting ready for our Thanksgiving Day!
